Basic Marinara – GF & Low FODMAP
Having to give up
garlic and onion for a low FODMAP diet makes it very difficult to buy
ready-made sauce, this is an easy crock pot recipe and can be frozen to keep on
hand for weeknight meals.
Ada loves sweet potato noodles so Grandpa is cooking some up for her while she helps Grandma make the sauce.
Combine:
50 oz of crushed
organic tomatoes
1 tablespoon of
parsley
1 tablespoon of
oregano
1 tablespoon of
sugar
Sea salt to taste
(watch quantity if the tomatoes have salt)
2 tablespoons of
garlic infused olive oil (certified low FODMAP if necessary)
Optional – add 1
pound of cooked ground beef or chicken
Optional – grate in parmesan cheese
Cook in crock pot on
low for 4-6 hours
Note: if you’re looking to lower your lectins you
can make this in a pressure cooker
